The End of Windows 10

The End of Windows 10

Yes, it’s coming: the end of Windows 10

And this means Windows 10 support will end in October 2025.

Windows 10 has been one of the best operating systems Microsoft have made to date.

It’s been pretty reliable, has some great features such as the ability to repair itself and has solved a lot of the problems Windows 8 brought with it!

Microsoft have a track record of releasing a good operating system and then a bad one.

With Windows 10 they got it right and with Windows 11 they made it even better.

As the support for Windows 10 comes to its end, the choices you have are relatively limited.

Ultimately you will have to move to Windows 11, sometimes you can upgrade your current Windows 10 PC to Windows 11.

As Windows 11 is the most secure operating system Microsoft have built to date, you may need to buy a new PC to run it.

This is because it needs a Trusted Platform Module (‘TPM’) 2.0…

And this is essentially hardware based encryption to keep your PC and your data safe. Without one of these your PC cannot run Windows 11…

Yes there are some bodges that can be done but no reputable IT support company would recommend or help you with this.

What should I do?

My advice would be to speak to your local IT company about your machines if you are unsure about their current operating systems or would like to know if they can support Windows 11.

Microsoft kindly gave us the PC Health Check app to easily see if Windows computers can run Windows 11.

Here at Jeccl, we provide a wide variety of IT support services to our clients including helping with the product life cycle.

It can be a sad day when your trusty PC of the last 6 years gets to the end of its life, but with Jeccl by your side the transition to a new machine and Windows 11 can be as seamless as possible.

You can hit the ground running with a faster, more powerful PC, running the latest and greatest operating system to date. With security now underpinning the entire operating system, Windows 11 is the way to go!
